I am incredibly grateful to say that I’m participating in The Homebound Project - an independent online theater initiative created to help feed hungry children affected by the coronavirus pandemic. All donations made to access the show go directly to No Kid Hungry to support these efforts. Each edition features a collection of new theater works written by homebound playwrights and recorded by sheltering actors.
Stacey Karen Robinson performed an excerpt from “bull-jean & dem/dey back” (my current work in progress).

This piece is about existence and death. The cast, made up of Trans folks, tell the story of Nimzo, who deals with a confrontation from the past all while trying to fill his testosterone supply during a pandemic shortage. NIMZO is part of The Becoming America Anthology Series which explores three different stories from three different parts of the country (Los Angeles, Chicago, and Durham). Each explores the journeys we take during times of duress, opening us up to explore our differences and discover the surprising bonds that bind us together.

"I am deeply honored to have the privilege of being supported by the Playwrights' Center. To be a Core Writer means that I do not have to work in isolation. That I will be asked, 'what do you need' as the writing shapes itself. And that I will be fiercely championed by an organization that loves playwrights. This is a return home for me. It feels Divine. I am SO grateful!" Sharon

I am SO honored to have work included in the streaming platform that is ALL about artists helping artists!
If we can get 10,000 subscribers at $10 a month, then every month we can give $10,000 to 10 different artists affected by the Covid-19 cancelations. And every month 10 new artists in need will get $10,000.
If we surpass our goal, more people will get help.
