These workshops are for artists of all backgrounds and aesthetics who are interested in using art as vehicle for social justice. With The Finding Voice Method social justice work begins with rigorous examination and working of the personal as political. Participants will walk through a process of uncovering and articulating the personal: identity-culture-memory-family herstories-aspirations. Writing, witnessing, deep listening, movement and theatre exercises will be our work. Together we will work to unlock blocks and discover new ways to approach making and completing work/ using openness and vulnerability as tools for creative process and building community.
