The bold beautiful passionate fiercely political feminist dyke Staceyann/is one of the most important writers of her generation. CC and I are extremely proud to call her sister/to remember her - when- to be witness to Staceyann’s flight!
The event/benefiting Pow Wow - was sold out. avery r young, and many others rocked the celebration.
POW-WOW, Inc. (Performers of Writers for Women on Women’s Issues) is a not for profit organization, that has been instrumental in providing is a safe space for women and girls to create, produce and perform art.
I call Chicago home/partially because I was born there (we moved to L.A. when I was 3) but mostly because over the years folk like CC Carter, Jackie Anderson and the Pow Wow community have made it so.

many congratulations…donna rose from the midwest, now sunning seriously souf’ of the border in zihuatanejo…maybe you’ll consider a vist south to write that next work..or a writers workshop.:-) i have a lil bed and breakfast …2 lovely rooms with a/c and /king beds; separate ba., terrace with views of sierra madre mountains…can sleep 2 couples and 5 singles, or 9-10 singles….full breakfast, airport pick up/drop off…cable upstairs, sky tv downstairs, hook up for your laptop, there is a patio in front for maybe some reading/critiquing…close to beaches, bars, cafes, restaurants, entertainment, water sports/tours by arrangement, ixtapa a 10 min bus ride away for more shopping/entertainment…your airfare and $US250 per person/4days, 3 nights…so give it a thought…some sisters from berkely are coming down in october…i really hope to make it a traveling type salon when ever possible….in the meantime, many congratulations on these past 5 years, and on to 25 more! all the best! donna rose
